  •     Haiti is composed mainly of mountains and hills, more than 80% of the country is more than 600 feet above sea level and half of that land lies at elevations of 1,500 ft.
  •     A major part of the shoreline of Haiti is composed of the Tibouron Peninsula, which is located in the northern part of Haiti.
  •     Lakes, rivers, and waterfalls are also located in Haiti. Lake Saumatre is the largest lake in Haiti and is located close to the Dominican Republic. The Artibonite river is the longest river in Haiti and is a very useful source of water to the people in Haiti, this river stretches to be 145 miles long. Haiti is home to many waterfalls, one called the Saut d’ Eau is about 100 feet tall and is sacred to most of the people in Haiti.
  •     Something interesting about Haiti is that it has no desserts located there. It is made up of rolling terrain which is not so good for plant growth but is home to many species of animals and trees.
  •      There are some caves in Haiti which are located in Hinche which may have drawings from their first inhabitants.
  •     There is the central plateau which extends east to the border and stretches 84 miles.
  •     There are few man-made features in Haiti because of its wealth and economy but there is a dam in the middle of a country on the upper part of the Artibonitie river
Haiti is known to have massive flooding during raining season and also can have many hurricanes which can cause flooding as well

  • Haiti is known to have a lot of rainfall, its rain seasons are Apr-Jun and Oct-Nov
